I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. Very violent, depressing stories but written from an unexpected perspective and with so much detail as to almost be watched.
I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. A good tale, but not a gripping one. It was missing too many details to keep from being vague.
I know the language is authentic and the author did a lot of research, but I found the book painful to read. A lot of the dialogue I had to force myself through because it was so... course. I could understand what was being said, it just didn't have a comfortable flow. I also don't like Huck Finn as a character, but I liked Tom Sawyer even worse.
Not bad for a free e-book I guess, but still an unrealistic timeline and things felt forced.
Decent, about what you'd expect from a fast paced romance. No surprises.
Interesting take on a noble woman's adventures on both sides of the wall. Slow getting started but picked up eventually.
