I read this for the "Recommended To You By Amazon" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I thought it was cute, a simple story about a bad seed who wants to overcome being bad and be good instead. He's not always perfect, but he tries.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I was blown away by this book; I couldn't put it down and I read it in a single afternoon. I grew up in a city near Leslie Howard and I have been to Barkerville, but I had never heard of the Brideship Wives. I thought the story was fascinating and really well done, I was able to sink right into it and feel Charlotte's stress and uncertainty the whole way through. It has definitely made me interested in visiting some of the museums and historical sites relating to this topic, and I look forward to reading more pieces by her. I'm going to use this for the "Written by a Female Author" part of my 2020 reading challenge.
I read this for the "Set In The Victorian Era" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I didn't love it as much as the Parasol Protectorate series, but it was still very entertaining.
I liked this a bit more than book 1, but still less than the Parasol Protectorate. I look forward to seeing what the characters get up to next.
I enjoy these books more as the series goes on, and I really like Soap.
This was probably my favorite of the series and I wish there were more on her adventures.
This was a decent length, but I found Vieve to be a bit annoying this time.
I felt that this one was a little lackluster compared to the first two, but it could be that I haven't read the others in so long. It was still enjoyable and I like the characters.
Plot-wise this one didn't have too much going on, but I enjoyed the overlapping characters from the Finishing School series. I also really like the Doctor.
This was sweet and simple, more about their relationship than any plot or pack matters.
