I know very little about Superman lore, so I don't know how accurate this origin story is but I enjoyed it. Not quite as good as the Batman or Catwoman stories in this series it was still an exciting contender. Young, high-school Clark Kent was very believable and I liked the surprise of his powers.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. It was both a bit boring and slow and yet better than other classics at the same time. I think having shorter stories helped and the language didn't drag on. The story of Jekyll and Hyde wasn't quite as exciting as I had hoped, but it was still a bit different than I expected.

This was great, I really enjoyed the mystery and the characters. There were a few spots where I laughed out loud, and even at the end I was surprised who the bad guy was. I finished the whole thing in 24 hours.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I really enjoyed it, it was unique and exciting and the characters were all likeable and realistic. I look forward to reading the next book.

I really enjoyed this. Plot-wise it was just about a family dealing with drama and their lives, but the writing and flow were perfect. It never felt like it dragged on, and before it could ever get boring she introduced a new hook. There was the occasional time I would get a little confused as to what decade they were now talking about, but overall it was great.

I picked this book up at either the Edmonton or Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, apparently the author is from my hometown of Kelowna! As other reviews have said I did find it slow to start, and the overly descriptive language felt like they were trying too hard to immerse us in this world too quickly. I enjoyed the story, but the complex character names were a bit hard to keep track of.

I read this for the "An Author Local To You" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was a cute book explaining how her culture celebrates differently and her journey of family and self discovery.

I read this for the "A Book With Recipes Inside" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I wasn't a fan of the art style, but the story was good and I'm really looking forward to trying the Ghost-Pleasing Chocolate Cake Recipe in the back!

I read this for the "An Author's Debut Book" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I loved it, the artwork was phenomenal and the story was beautiful and moving. It was a perfect way to show diversity and that we are all beautiful and bright.

I read this for the "A Book Containing Poetry" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was a cute collection of poetry, "Are You A Book Person?" and "Ab-so-lu-tas-ti-cal" were my two favorites.
