I read this for the "a book recommended by a friend" part of my 2018 reading challenge. I'm not a huge fan of chick-lit, so I found the first half kind of lackluster, then the characters really started getting depth and it got much more intriguing.
Not my favorite, I usually enjoy the Stream of consciousness poetry but these didn't grab me.
I read this for the "a book by a Scandinavian author" part of my 2018 reading challenge. This book really surprised me, I wasn't super into the first quarter/third of it, but once he meets the cat I found it really picks up. I thought it was really funny and touching, and of course I cried at the end.
I read this book for the "A Book With Food On The Cover" part of my 2018 reading challenge. Classic Dr. Seuss, one of my favorites.
Found this on my shelf and realized I hadn't marked it as read yet! One of his best.
I found this on my shelf and realized I hadn't marked it as read yet. Of of my favorites, I love his funnier books.
I read this book online in six parts, released each week by The Edmonton Public Library. It started out really interesting, but I felt it fell apart near the end. The timelines got confusing with all of the switching back and forth, and I felt the ending was very unsatisfying.
I really wanted to like this book because I love Sleeping Beauty, and I tried, but I just couldn't get into the characters and that ending Really let me down. I know there's a second book, but I'm left with so many questions and frustrations that I don't know if I can read it.
I really enjoyed this considering it's a book set in space and I don't generally like those. I think it helped that the inhabitants were more human and it focused on them more than space travel. I felt some similarities to her other Divergent series, but I'm looking forward to book 2.
I enjoy Neil Gaiman, and this would be a cute and funny addition to anyone's collection.
