I thought this book was cleverly written. I had to reread a few bits, not because I missed something but because I couldn’t believe what I had read. Cate Kay goes through serious character development. She struggles with who she is now and how she handles her past. She is heavily influenced by the people around her. The book is written as though the characters are being interviewed, it’s also a book written about a book with Cate Kay being a best selling author. I can see how it was compared to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, to me the vibe is similar. 

I loved this cat and mouse thriller. There were a lot of supporting characters, but I didn’t get lost with them. I thought they were all essential to the story. Steady pace, strong character development with the protagonist and I didn’t hate that antagonist. Very clever and I love that you can read this as a standalone.

I loved how easy this book was to read. There’s a lot of spice and chemistry between the main characters. I enjoyed the brother’s best friend trope. Whit doesn’t recognize Mimi when she shows up for an interview and mistakes her for someone else. Things get heated and now Mimi wants a once in a lifetime experience. Not super strong characters but both were likable. I liked the audiobook and followed along with the ebook. Both reading experiences were great.
