Dragged a bit here and there (I DID listen to the one with an extra 12,000 words) but I actually enjoyed it. I understand the criticism from people (not much happened, wandered too much, etc) but for me, this was a good listen. I don't think I could have read it though. It worked much better for me with the full cast recording and being able to listen.
It's very cute, with some nice elements of imagination and different cultural elements that make for a charming short story. There wasn't much to learn here, other than the fact that imagination is magical and friends can be found if you follow your heart, but it was fun nonetheless.
I ended up switching to an Audiobook about a third of the way through so I could be at work and finished the book in time for the Prime show. What a fun, heartfelt, and charming read!
