I wish I liked it better but it just wasn’t quite my cup of tea. I am all for a slow mystery, but I just felt like the world and characters felt a bit too flat which made the story drag.
It sounds like this was Louise Penney’s first novel, and that the subsequent novels get better… So since it is so popular, I could see myself reading more in the series.

I obviously like this series enough to keep reading. I love classic whodunnits and think the reveal is the best part. They made Hawthorne less despicable and more human in this book, but still interesting and mysterious.

I think this was a great book! However, I would have enjoyed it more had it been a bit longer with more worldbuilding and character development. Regardless, this was an interesting take on the story and it was a compelling read.

Interesting! I think this was an enjoyable story that had lots of interesting turns. There were some things I suspected but other things that I didn’t see coming at all.

Compared to the other book, this song was such a let down! Granted, I still devoured this book and got chills at the end but it just didn’t really mean that much compared to the other story. I was just expecting something a little bit deeper

It’s interesting because I haven’t seen this marketed as a Sherlock Holmes spoof at all, but it totally is a fun one!
