4.5 actually bc im stupid and the writing hurts my brain

the writing is so pretentious and overwritten that it feels like it was 10,000 words under the word count and the author threw in adjectives to make up for it. straight up nothing happens, and the book LITERALLY ends mid-thought?

I read this for class, and it's pretty good for pop history, though a bit repetitive, and I didn't like how many assumptions the author was making.

3.5. I get that this is for like 14 year olds but I kinda wanted more from it :(
