It's an easy read though I'm quite mad at the fact that there was ZERO diversity and the PLOT was as useless as anything else in the book. The characters are SO STUPID it's hilarious how they can't recognise and put two and two together when the MC disguises herself. I just—

I got bored and compared to the other trilogy by this author.

AMAZING stand-alone! i wish it were longer!!! i wish there had been a tad bit more dramatic. I just love how everything was laid out and the resolution is just- *chef's kiss* DAMN i never thought i'd actually love a contemporary read! i should start reading more of them. Also i adore Amiko Jean's writing style, it's direct and yet complex at the same time. I felt immersed and this story made me FEEL THINGS I SHOULD NEVER HAVE!!! please give me a brooding guard for my birthday i beg of you!!!

It wasn't for me ig. There wasn't much that i loved nor was there anything i hated. So yeah 2 stars because the writing was good and i liked the main characters. The plot is just not riveting enough for me too keep on reading. Nothing much is happening and i think this book was written with the character's first and the plot second.
