LESBIANS and PRINCESSES and EVIL CURSES are the way to go.
"there are worse things than sleep," the fairy answers softly, and she may be the villain but she's not wrong.

The only damned complaint i have about this book is that it was way too short!
I swear i could read a thousand more pages of Zin having fairy-tale adventures in interdimensional parallel worlds and ranting out evil fairy curse givers, old medieval gender roles, overly formal language, and un-charming prince charmings. BUT ALAS! I have to concede that Alix E.Harrow did a terrific job at writing this short book. We get the full experience of discovering a far beyond fairytalesque land whilst still being grounded to our modern thoughts and ways thanks to the main character.
The author has a way with words that's indescribable, i really look up to her on that front and i can only aspire to be as good a writer as she is. The best of her works are yet to be read by me but that's because they seem too daunting for my stale brain.

this book is so hard to finish. It's fast-paced, yes, but it doesn't deliver the character depth i need to be completely hooked and enamoured with the storyline. Frankly idgf for what's gonna happen next. The story is addictive at first due to its sub-text and rapidness but like again, (i feel like i'm repeating myself) the story is just lacking depth and meaning.
overall: it was ok. Not as compelling as A curse so dark and lonely books

It was almost great.
- Lacks diversity in both race and sexuality
- overexplaining things at times

Read this in a month and a half and BOIIIIII this was AMAZING.
Basicaly, we follow Nahri and Ali AND Darayavahoush this time around (yes, he gets a POV strange but necessary)
The story:
Without spoiling anything, the story kept on getting better and better because not only did we get to see our characters change and realise how they need to change but the setting and the world-building gets more and more complicated by the page. It's as though teh author had only written a superficial part of the world and was only now showing teh true extent of its lore and complexity. I keep repeating complexe, and complicated, but its true I have no otehr words to describe how wondrefully interwoven the world is to the characters and the principal storyline. It amazes me everytime I think of it.
