2023 (second reread): The fact that it took me five years to reread this is insane.
Again, Phenomenal! Show-stopping! Heart-wrenching. Insert every other over-the-top adjective.
I swear the fight scenes seem amazing, but when reading, you don't quite get the full scope of it.
Direct. Crude. And strangely alright. I didn't find myself hating or loving this.
It took an unexpected turn halfway through the book and I just dont know how to feel about that particular plot point.

I had to give myself two business days of reflexion after finishing this.
It was... um...frustrating. However still entertaining??? It was hard to get through all the New York lingo and references since I live on the other side of the Atlantic, in a bright city known as Paris.
Other than that, the characters FRUSTRATED me greatly. I mean, one's past 25 and the other's close to 30 surely they'd know how to act like adults and reason their feelings through communication? Right?????? Of course not. They have the minds of young teenagers afraid of simply talking things out. I don't even know how to coherently explain the inner working of their minds.
Anyways, three stars
