Also read for my Japanese Anime and Manga class. Didn't like it quite as much, but still good.

Caldecott Medal, 1968

Eh. Wouldn't be my pick. I should probably look at other books from 1968 though. I feel like I'm really picky about my artwork. I should probably start commenting more on what kind of pictures I do like.

Also, the story is sort of, "This is the House that Jack Built" and those books usually make me shrug.

Another eh on the pictures and eh on the song. Not my type. I can see why it hasn't been checked out in three years.

Pictures were better than the others that I've read recently. I found the story hard to read, but that could be because I was reading it in a noisy room and was finding it difficult to concentrate. Maybe I'll try again when my attention isn't as distracted.

I've noticed that I tend to really like the sports manga and anime that I've read. I will be getting volume 2 of this one as well.

Added to my manga shelf, even though it's technically not, it's manhwa. I don't know if I'll be able to access any others any time soon, and when I do, I'll make a new shelf.

Anyway, this is probably my second favorite book that I've read for this class. It's a beautiful coming of age story interwoven with the story of a young widow. Beautiful artwork, wonderful story. I wish the next two volumes were out now.

This was on my summer reading list for my freshman year of high school. I remember that I felt like it was my first exposure to King Arthur. I also thought it was a little racy for freshmen, but maybe I was naive!
