I enjoyed this one. I had some reservations about the African inspired fantasy world, but overall, it's a good fantasy.

Overall, good. A few word/tone choices that gave me pause---does one ever really need to use the word "niggardly"? And at times I thought some sentences made it sound like it was Eliza's fault that Hamilton flirted. Other than that, very well written.

I liked the story well enough, but I am always wary of books where it seems like people get away with their wrong actions. I mean, yes, I am sure plenty of prep school kids get away with lots of stuff because of donations, but do we really need to make that seem like a good thing? And why was public school such a horrible place and everyone goes to prep schools? I don't think I am the right audience for this book.

For kids, I think they will enjoy it. I wonder if they will realize how intimidating it is to be the only boy in an all-girl environment. I know I have witnessed that at Smith. I also think they will enjoy the pranking.

Pretty good! Look forward to the next one. At the moment, I'm an Adam/Blue shipper.

This author. This topic. My heart.

Hermione is co-captain of her cheerleading squad. She's got a boyfriend. Her best friend Polly is at her side. Life seems perfect. Then at camp, someone drugs her drink, drags her to the lake, and rapes her. She doesn't remember it at all. What happens now?

Powerful. I want to press it in the hands of people, especially after reading the results of the Stanford case last night. Consent, people.

I've been on a good reading streak lately. Charlie is scared of the ice and really into Irish step dancing. She misses her big sister Abby who has started college. When her friend Drew convinces her to try ice fishing, she catches a fish that says he can grant wishes. But wishes are tricky things. They don't always turn out the way you want.

This book also deals with addiction, which is one of my favorite aspects. I think it would be an excellent bibliotherapy choice for siblings of addicted children and teens.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy.
