Cute poems about places across the United States. I wished there were photographs instead of illustrations.
I really enjoyed this one. Sarah's mom leaves at the beginning of the book, and soon her father starts changing. He drops her off with her grandparents, who are quite strange. The book is full of magic, wild and tamed, and Sarah doesn't know who to trust or not. I was thrilled with figuring out how the curse worked.
A great mystery about apothecaries and secret cults!
Benji lives locked in an attic room upstairs. His body is misshapen and he is crippled, and we are told his mother loves him despite keeping him upstairs. I also thought that she left him at the fountain on purpose, and so was surprised to find that she was so upset about losing him. The dragon character was fine, but I remember feeling that the end was a bit too neat for me, like of course Thomas found him and of course Archibald was the Dragon.
Thank you to the author, for sending me an electronic copy to review.

I read this in bits and pieces, but a big chunk in one sitting. I think it's an important story for my library, because it treats homelessness with such kindness, and I like to have books with characters that deal with MS because we have a support group that meets at my library. I wasn't distracted by Crenshaw, like some of my friends were. I just accepted him as being part of the story. He was there to help Jackson, and he would come and go as needed. I enjoyed it.
I didn't realize it was going to have sad parts!
I laughed a lot.
This is a great combination of a classic folk tale and a religious holiday.
Love this picture book introducing children to microbes, and why some are good and others are bad.
