Another cute story about being brave.
Enough time has passed that I can read this without feeling like it's too connected to "The One and Only Ivan." This one is much more factual, and it's still an amazing story. Pairing with with Karas's illustrations only makes it better.
Cute. Didn't make me want to run out and look for animal tracks, but I suspect others will feel differently.
I thought this was going to be a book about infinity. Imagine my surprise when I learned it's about hockey! The highest number in the world in this book refers to the numbers they raise to the rafters, the ones that get retired so no one else can play with them on that team. It's even better that it is girls playing hockey.
Pretty good, but not my favorite. Read due to it becoming a movie.
I will read anything Wein writes so this was a no brainer for me. Add in a bit of history I do not know and I am sold. There were definitely sections I found a bit unbelievable but for the most part, this is an engaging story about a bit of history that needs to be known.
This is my favorite John Green novel (out of TFIOS, An Abundance of Katherines, and this one.) So I'm not sure if that's saying a lot or not. Maybe if I had read this one before TFIOS, I would have liked that one better? I don't know. I actively disliked AAOK. Maybe it was just a case of right reader right time.
Wish I had read this last year, so I could have nominated it for MSBA. Loved it.
Now I must read them all.
