I enjoyed this book. The illustrations are calming. I think that it was really accurate in the way Benny's thoughts progress too. If I were a child, I would think to do the same thing with the bagels, although I might have been more cautious than Benny.

Who doesn't love books with stuff to feel?

I don't really get this one. I mean, seeing the names of the endangered animals is fun, but there's not a whole lot of information about them. And the letters are kind of abstract for small children. I decided not to use this book for class because of it.

I think my favorite part of this book was the fact that it showed the parallels between two historical times, which I think it what helps foster understanding and acceptance.

I think this book will be a bit hit with kids who like turtles, dinosaurs and/or history. :)

Good for older children, this book looks at one woman's attempt to save the Jewish children in Poland from Nazi concentration camps.
