I love this one about neighbors helping each other find the treasures they are seeking.

A cute fantasy about discovering a magical world and dragons. Jaxon is upset when his mother decides to leave him with a grandmother he never knew about while she goes to court for the day. Only, it turns out the woman isn't his grandmother, and she's a witch! Will she teach Jaxon the tricks of her trade? Can he keep the dragons in a bag?

I loved this one so much. At first, you think it's going to be about three teens (Nora, Wes, and Iris) who are caught up in a bank robbery while dealing with some relationship stuff (Nora and Wes used to date, and now Nora and Iris are dating, and they kept it a secret from Wes, and he found out by walking in on them making out.) But there is much, much more to Nora than we know. I loved finding out about all of Nora's layers. Also, I hate her mom.

Slow start, but picks up at the end. I wonder if there will be a sequel book, or if the theme park is the sequel.

I really liked the art in this one, and it made me think about a lot of things related to identity, things that I don't always have to think about as a cis white woman married to a cis white man. I appreciated seeing De La Cruz's perspective.

I love this series so so much.

Lori's grandmother, who had been a stable influence in her life the past three years, dies suddenly. Her will requests that her remains be scattered near "things that grow" with a list of ideal gardens. Lori sets off with her Uncle Seth and best friend/crush Chris to distribute the remains. Lori also explores her relationship with her mother, who seems to bounce from location to location and boyfriend to boyfriend.

I liked this story. I thought it had some interesting things to say about grief and families, especially the idea of "second-chance parenting."

I thought this adaptation was okay. I honestly had a hard time telling some of the characters apart, which made the story a little hard for me to read at times. Is that Nick? Tom? Gatsby? I think the cover is stunning.
