I really enjoyed this one, other than some awkwardness in the way the romance was written. I don't like it when characters day they have a need for one another. Anyway, I thought Maia was a great heroine and I liked the world building. Can't wait for the next one.

I had a rocky start with this one, but I grew to live it. An excellent survival story with some family angst thrown in. I wonder if the rocky start is due to me not being a teen any more?

I really enjoyed reading this one. It's like if a weird religious cult world did a Hunger Games type summer for young women because they were scared of their power. Liggett writes in such a way that you feel like you are there. I definitely figured out what was going on before Tierney did, in many cases, but that didn't stop my enjoyment of the story.

A fitting end to the series.

I read this at storytime and it was a little long for my group, but the adults loved it. I think maybe a group of average age 2.5 just isn't into tacos as much as a group of say, 5-6 year olds would be.

I liked this one a lot, but I agree with many other reviewers that it was a little tough to get into, and it seems like a love quadrangle? There were definitely interesting moral quandaries, and I will be interested in seeing where it goes.

This is an excellent story about a boy named Jay, who was born in the Philippines but moved to America when he was about a year old. He doesn't feel that connected to his Filipino roots, but when his cousin dies, he wants nothing more than to solve the mystery of his death. He throws himself into learning about his cousin, and in doing so, finds out a lot about the country where he was born, his family, and himself. Beautiful writing.
