Not my favorite. The illustrations aren't a style I respond to well, and the text wasn't my favorite either. I definitely think a biography of Steinem is needed, this just isn't the one for me.
It took me a while to get through this one, because its slimmess made me not think clearly about its complexity. A lot of it was stuff I already knew, but maybe hadn't thought about in that way.
I liked this one more than I thought. It has a lot of political things to think about. It will be interesting to talk about this at book club.
I think my favorite thing about this book is when Channing is courting Faith, he pays enough attention to know she would prefer rocks to flowers as a gift. Love that.
A powerful work. Will be interesting to talk about at book club tonight.
I love books that are written in letters, emails, etc. I've never listened to one on audio before, so that was different for me. I laughed out loud a lot at it. I loved the different perspectives and how the storylines intertwined. Can't wait for the movie!
Pretty good! I'm not a huge Fantastic Four fan, but I felt like I really got a glimpse of what the team is about and why they are popular.
A cute book about friendship and the way it changes and can expand over time.
Another book I looked at for my upcoming trip. It's a little hard to find stuff specifically on Hilton Head in my library system, but every little bit helps I guess!
This is an excellent review of TV and culture, but to me, the standout essay is "Confessions of a Human Shield," which examines how we approach the work of problematic people, particularly men. I know that I find it easy to not pay attention to the work of most problematic actors, but letting go of Michael Jackson and David Bowie? Much harder. Highly recommended.
