A good overview of baby programming. Love that it has some scripts to follow.

I get that you don't want to make children too upset, but I'm not sure saying they had fun is the answer, or making it seem like chlidren got to play a lot and then noting that she was 6 when she started working. What age is a child then?

I chose to read this because one of my patrons voted for it as their best MSBA book of the year. I can see how a child would like it, but as an adult, I found it to be derivative of other dystopians I had read, and a fair amount of plot holes/ Letta not figuring out semi-obvious things. I DID really like the ending, which did not tie up neatly. So, for a kid who hasn't read a bunch of these types of stories yet? Good. For an adult who has? Not so much.

In anticipation of my library's MSBA party, I am trying to read all the books the kids voted for so I have an idea of what they are taking about. This was a fun quick mystery about a missing mascot that has illustrations in addition to text. I can see the appeal, and it made me giggle. I do have the sequel at my library, and I think that will appeal as well.

Another book voted on by one of the library kiddos. I never would have picked it up based on the cover and my disappointment when it wasn't historical fiction. It ended up being pretty good. It's about a town with a lot of traditions and what it means to grow abs keep those. There is also a Lord of the Flies element when the adults all fall asleep. Part of it reminded me of how Maine can be, because there were definite moments of "well that person isn't from around here so they must be suspicious". Not my favorite, but it helps me get an idea of what kids in my new library like to read.

It definitely sold me on budgeting and this system. I've never really budgeted before but I think I'd like to try this and see if it works!

This is still a really good series. I thought it was only going to be a trilogy for some reason, but there is a fourth book. Hurray!

Another one of my kid's choices for MSBA winner. I liked it a lot. It's an own voices story for the Tourette's part. Calliope June has moved 11 times because her mother keeps getting new boyfriends. Her doctor told her to keep her diagnosis a secret and her mom feels the same way. Calliope doesn't make friends easily this way. The neighbor kid next door thinks she is nice but only wants to be friends with her outside of school. I thought that was pretty accurate for the way kids act. It's a good story in verse.

I really enjoyed this one and I am sad that I didn't get a chance to talk about it with a book club.
