I listened to this one. I thought the audiobook did a good job. I guess there are illustrations though, and I think that might have helped me picture some things better (like how the whales swim through the water. Is it upside down to me?) It was weird, but in a good way.

Great rhyming and funny illustrations

A great guessing the mommy and/or animal book. Also, kids like to talk about cookies at the end.

I don't think I would have liked Webster as a person, but I can't think of anyone better to create our first dictionary (which continues to this day) Pretty fun.

I didn't like it quite as much as the first, but I am so ready for book three.

Definitely dated, but the text level is so good for toddlers. I am hopeful that there will be an updated one.

A good look at the life of a garden. I think it would be a great storytime/STEM program for grades k-3 if you combine it with a garden based activity.

I liked the math part of this a lot. It's a fun title to bring to a math night because it doesn't look math-y. Plus you learn fun rainforest facts along the way!

I will say this book sucked me right in, which was nice, because I had felt like I was in a little bit of a reading slump, often choosing the internet instead. This book I picked over the internet, if that tells you anything.

It's a compelling story about complicated people. I didn't particularly like any of our main characters, but their stories were interesting. It would be an excellent book club choice, which is why I read it (even if I can't be with my book club now). I do think it is a good reminder of the way crimes and prison reverberate through a family.
