Oh my heart. Shane grabs it and never lets go. There were times when I wanted to throttle his father, but this is a story about people working through something together in the best way they know how. An excellent story about being who you are, and the first that I have read with a transman in it.

This was absolutely adorable and necessary. It's perfectly appropriate for the age group, discusses crushes in an excellent way, and just captures those feelings of middle school so well. Loved it.

This is a book about a gay wedding but it is also a book about fears of children when it comes to new people in their lives. Will they still be important? Adorable illustrations and a gentle story.

I love this book about different families as a way to introduce the topic to children.

Lovely m/M romance that is child safe. It's your regular fairy tale with two princes falling in love at the end.

This book provides discussion material at the end, which I love. It covers Pride parades, but is also a good introduction to why they happen due to the back matter. A great introductory book.

I had heard really good things about this book but it took me a while to get into it. I found it a little slow and confusing. As it got to the middle, I liked it more.

This one made me laugh out loud often. Mei is a Taiwanese-American college student, a year younger than average because she skipped fourth grade. Her parents want her to be a doctor but she's a germophobe. At MIT she meets a cute but unacceptable boy (not Taiwanese) and also gets back in touch with her estranged brother. Slowly she starts to wonder if she should continue to always listen to her parents, or start to listen to herself?

I found Mei to be relatable. She has fears and doubts but also strengths. I wasn't 100% sold on the romance at first, but it grew on me. Very cute story.

I really liked this one. I loved how Morris' mom just let him be who he was. I also love the sound of clicking shoes. Just a really nice book about being yourself, and that a boy can wear a dress.
