I thought this book was pretty good. I definitely listened from disc to disc. I was a little skeptical that they wouldn't be discovered earlier, that they were alone.

YA horror--not my usual genre, which is why I think it took so long for me to finish this book. I enjoyed it, although it had some squicky moments.

What did you all think of the crazy twist? I understand it, not sure it's a choice I agree with. Harsh book at times. A satisfying trilogy.

I'm not sure I'll sit there and read the sequels/prequels, but we read it for boys book club this month. It was a book many of the boys had said they had wanted to read, and I have heard from one boy that he enjoyed it, so fingers crossed that many did!

I really enjoyed this book. I assigned it for girls' book club but it was also prep for reading "Hattie Ever After" for MSBA. I really enjoyed it. Hattie is a great protagonist and I hope the girls of book club want to be more like her.

I actually really enjoyed this book. I thought the drowned town setting was interesting. I thought the characters were believable. My only concern was whether kids would understand it was set in Australia. I wasn't sure that was clear at the beginning.

I think I actually enjoyed this book more than the original. I think Charlie Joe really grows in this book, and I really enjoyed learning about Lech Walesa, someone I knew nothing about prior to reading this book. Recommended for readers and nonreaders alike!

A cute book for the beginning reader who loves horses!

Yay pirates! I really enjoyed this swashbuckling tale of piracy and magic. The droll tone suits the book well. I think it would be a great MSBA book.

Not the best book, but the cliffhanger was enough for me to want to continue reading it.
