I'm not sure what to think of this book. It's a little sad, it's a little creepy, and it's a Halloween story. I'm not really sure if it would work at a preschool story time. I do think it would work well as a book to help kids deal with a pet's death at any time of year. I also really enjoy Rohmann's illustrations.
I think my favorite thing about this book were the illustrations and the fact that each butterfly was labeled.
Normally I don't comment a lot on the Easy Readers that I read (I would definitely have my 300 goal met if I did!) but I felt the need to comment on this one. If there was ever a Disney Princess book that justified the Facebook group "Disney Gave Me Unrealistic Expectations of Love" then this book might be it.
The best part was the end, when one of my favorite characters came back! I am not a big fan of Jaimy, but I guess he was okay in this book.
