Age: Preschool-1st grade

Another fun addition to this meta series. Three cats are terrified of a dog that might be lurking in the book, until one cat realizes that the dog isn't there to get them but is, perhaps, looking for a friend.

I'm questioning the durability of this as a library book considering there are 21 flaps, but at least the pages and the flaps have a more sturdy weight to them.

Age: Preschool
Family: Older brother, little sister

An eye-catching cover will real in boys and girls looking for a simple spooky tale (that isn't too scary). Jack finally comes around to letting his sister into his pirate tent when they both hear a rustling in the dark. I appreciate their believable friendship where their camaraderie appears when they most need it.

Age: Kindergarten-3rd grade

If you're looking for your next grocery list, look no further! This book is jam packed full of food and drink names, that tend to distract instead of educate. Although the book's intention to teach about healthy eating is always welcomed into classrooms and families, this book was way too long, too scientifically inclusive, very dry, and devoid of plot. Because there was so much jam packed into the "story" there are no supplementary materials at the end for teachers or parents.

Age: Preschool-Kindergarten
Animals: Bear, hummingbird

A delightfully creative take on portraying dreams and imagination in a picture book. As Hank tells Hummingbird about his dream on a flying ship from the night before, he relives it while storytelling it. Dudley uses the left page as the real world and the right page as his dream world. What is especially notable is that Hank holds the same poses on both sides, as Hank relives the magical experiences of his dream in the real world. Unique and well-presented!

Age: Kindergarten-2nd grade
Emotions: Loneliness

Serves a very specific bibliotherapeutic purpose that dissects the meaning of uniqueness and the potential for loneliness because no one is exactly like you.

Age: Preschool
Food: Peas
Nature: Seeds growing into plants

A short tale of two adventurous peas exploring their surroundings until predators force them underground where they are cosy snug and grow into two pea plants. This book is extra special with supplementary material on sketching as an art process for preschoolers and grade school children.
