Age: 1-years - preschool

Simple story about constructing a park with repetitious phrases. Good introduction to various construction vehicles.

I like the build up of Ruth Ann's love of the museum and the story is rather an enjoyable read. However, they didn't quite explain why the T. Rex was misunderstood as a meat eater instead of a vegetarian, especially with those sharp, pointy teeth. More observant dinosaur experts might be asking a lot of questions with this one.

Animals: Pets, dogs, chick

Chick n Pug are an unstoppable team but when Pug's squeaky toy goes missing, Chick (and Pug) must get to the bottom of the mystery! I liked the superhero references (little kids are going BONKERS for superheroes now) and the juxtaposition of Chick and Pug provides for fun character voices.

Humor: Absurdity

Yankovic masterfully weaves another great tale about a boy and his extravagant stories. His meter and rhyme scheme is impeccable and does not distract from the story but enhances it. Bravo!

Attention future inventors and engineers: this book's for you! The step-by-step process was fun and added to the anticipation of the story. The old cartoon style felt refreshing and unique for a book being published today.

Ever wondered how Rapunzel could actually hear the prince from atop her high high tower? Well, this Rapunzel certainly can't hear the beckoning cries of the prince below, throwing down her underwear when he asks for his hair, her dirty socks when he asks for her curly locks. His undying love will not give up until Rapunzel throws down her maid instead of her braid. The maid and the prince fall in love and Rapunzel is glad she "finally heard him right."

Kids will love the repetition and the extra silliness.

I am so in love with the writing style of Murray. I'm going to have so much fun reading this aloud in storytimes. Not only is the rhyme and rhythm boisterous but the story line sequence is relatively logical with no gaps in the story.

This book is too funny! Definitely meant to be shared on the lap, readers and listeners alike will want to soak up the details of this masterpiece, talking about the juxtaposition between the pictures and the words. This will be a very funny book for parents to enjoy, spreading the enjoyment to the listeners.
