Age: 4+
Bug: Spider
SEL: Destruction of art, disappointment, persistence

Kiara the spider has always made her webs for catching bugs until she is inspired by a beautiful display of craftmanship in web design. Wanting to make her own, the journey to that final product is hard--especially when her art keeps getting ruined by other creatures. But with emotional support from a fellow web-spinner and an appreciation of the creative process, Kiara succeeds in the end.

A bird carries its song of hope across the land. The simplicity of this poem's message translates well for children, especially when paired with the clear illustrations.

Age: Preschool-1st grade
Emotions: Anger, sadness

Your friend may not be receptive to what may cheer you up and that's okay, let it go and try something else. While Elephant doesn't want snacks or a bubble bath, they do want to talk and let their feelings out. A simple and effective how-to guide for supporting a friend.

Age: Preschool+
Animals: Tigers
Art: Drawing

The illustrator of this book invites the reader to play a game: Think of any animal and with the turn of a page, they will draw it! BUT the illustrator is *terrible* at drawing tigers (their words, not mine) so definitely DON'T think of a tiger. Contrary children will love this silly game of foiling the illustrator. But the illustrator decides to reverse their defeatist attitude towards drawing tigers and, instead, practices until they get better. What an excellent message of perseverance!

Concept: Colors
Science: Weather, rainbows

Nonverbal Ploof is back to paint his very first rainbow, but not without some challenges that he has to overcome--with the assistance of the audience, of course!
