Age: Preschool - 1st grade

Large letters with a white backdrop make this good for beginning readers, 2nd level (although not much repetition). Large pictures help support the text.

"Robot Zot -- never fall.
Robot Zot -- conquer all!"

Robot Zot is a fearless conqueror and he's set his sites on poor planet Earth. In the kitchen of a home, we notice that Robot Zot is valiant yet rather small. He blasts apart kitchen appliances but soon finds his true love--flanked by the commander general dog.

Story line jumps from action point to action point, perfect for kids who love explosions.

"Nothing can stop a little dinosaur. Not talking grown-ups, a bowl of spaghetti, or bath time...But what happens when he has to face the biggest challenge of all?"

Wonderful to read aloud, this little dinosaur is one stomping, roaring machine until bedtime hits.

Age: K - 2

"Here is the perfect book for children who feel like their outgoing friend is oh-so-talented . . . and they're not. Our shy narrator lists all the things that her best friend, Evelyn, is good at—from jumping on the bed to roller skating really fast. Luckily, Evelyn points out what makes her so special: she's a one-of-a-kind true blue best friend and excels in areas where Evelyn does not." Goodreads feature review

A cumulative tale about the adventures within and without the house in the night. With only two colors, this is a great book to read slowly and examine the objects in gold. Gorgeous wood block, negative art paintings.

"Kissing a bunny might be funny, but kissing a mop has got to stop! It's giggles galore when one fearless baby goes on a kissing adventure. There are plenty of kissable characters to meet along the way as our mischievous little kissy-face is quick to pucker up. And at the end of the day, when he is all 'puckered' out, it's Daddy who gets the last kiss good night. Parents will love reading this winning, silly-sweet story aloud, and preschoolers will go gaga for Liza Woodruff's adorable illustrations" (Goodreads feature review).

Fun and expressive artwork mixed with a rhyming, silly story.

Age: Preschool - Kindergarten

The big, mean dust bunny descends on 4 rhyming friends and wreaks havoc until the tables turn. Dialogue only in speech bubbles which helps an early reader connect spoken words with written words. Good for beginning readers but may need a caregiver to help with words like "weigh," "interesting," and rhyming."

Although the text is simple observations, it might plant an idea in the reader's head for their own good night walk

Age: 1st grade - 3rd grade

A fun, brief exploration of how cartoons are structured including panels, large text for shouting, and several more. The authors structure this lesson around a quixotic knight seeking out a dragon to kill while a magic cartooning elf gives drawing tips along the way.
