The use of color here is brilliant. Black and white occasionally juxtaposed with fiery reds and oranges that are very effective at conveying emotion. Some of the large images are among the most beautiful and vivid I have come across in graphic novels. The themes of sexuality, religion, identity, friendship, and masculinity are honestly and empathetically addressed. It didn’t all come together for me at some points, but I eagerly look forward to the author’s future work.
