The art and themes are phenomenal and I can see my middle school students who love Hatchet and other survival stories being obsessed with this. There were parts of the story that felt unclear, especially towards the end, but overall a great exploration of a teen surviving in the natural world, with a trans protagonist and lots of nature facts.
