An interesting take on a nature book. Well done and kids will find it interesting.

This was a sweet story. A child has two mittens and loses one. This story follows the adventures of the left mitten while the right one wonders what happened to their friend. This book is sweet and a little sad, but with a happy ending. The illustrations are perfect for this sensation the authors making one want to feel.
This is a short audiobook of a Christmas tale, but I am DNFing it. I can get behind the love story of a bunch of 50-year-olds and everyone making mistakes, but when the main character has been divorced three times, I don’t find a character I want read another romance about. I applaud everyone their journey, but I can’t get into a love story, knowing the characters had three others and gotten it wrong, made the wrong choice, etc. It makes finding a Happily Ever After implausible.

This is one of those WTF books. You have the schools highest honor student Sanpai and a random girl who is crushing on the best student. But the best student is extremely needy. She needs someone to pet her and love her. This book is like reading a semi sexual, not quite bondage, but definitely play of the Master variety. The best student needs special moments with this other girl and chances to be praised. Chances to be spoiled. There’s even a section that deals with licking an hour. It’s just weird. I would rather it had been a sexual graphic novel instead of this weird half way point with high school girls. The best thing I can say for the story is while the girls seem very developed, they’re completely covered. Maybe I need a second volume, but I’m not sure I’d pick it up and read it if I did.

This is about someone who takes their cat for a walk. And the second day the cat takes the human for the walk. The coloring and the way the story is laid out makes the reader feel hollow. It’s almost like this is fine or that you’re not old enough to understand. While reading this book, I feel like part of Mr. Bigg’s funeral (and just like that) where it had to be in the ultimate stylish place. That was a big white void. That’s not saying this book is bad. This book is good. Just a quiet lonely contemplative feeling. On a moment notice I would have a hard time matching this book to a young reader, but the reader is out there.

Winter is setting and all of badger’s friends have gone to their winter naps. Badger checks in on everyone, but no luck finding someone who will play. So, badger makes new friends. This story is simple and to the point, but the illustrations are unique in a classic way that can stand the test of time. They’re striking but make you want to curl up with a soft blanket on a cold winter night and read more.

This is a story about putting pen to paper and just writing. About ways to make it easier, and ways to start and never stop. This clever book rhymes and the illustrations pop off the page. This book is simple but says everything and more that any kid who loves a story might use to get started creating their own.

This is a weird little chapter book that I ended up really liking. It’s a cross between a picture book and a chapter book but it’s harder than an easy reader. You have an axolotl who is named Hugs and that’s what they love to do. However, Hugs-a-lotl loses both of their arms and must to wait for them to grow back. While they’re growing back, who will hug for them. He has someone who will raise a hand in class, someone who will paint a picture, someone who will read to them, but not someone who will hug for them. So Hugs-a-lotl sets out on a clever plan to find the best hugger in town. This book is a little weird but altogether it just works and kids are gonna love it.

This book was first a poem. And while I usually love illustrated poetry for children, this seems confusing. We start with a fox in the field with the meadow and then the interact in a city and how they live, but fox don’t care if humans are there is watching. It’s odd and I’m not sure how well kids will enjoy it.

There is someone out there for this book. Lucy has her own unicorn, and they get a puppy. The book starts with them doing their chores and all the things they need to do to get the parents to agree to a puppy. The second half of the book is having the puppy, leaving the gate open, looking for the puppy, and being reminded that puppies are a lot of work. I do like the illustrations; they seem fully professional. The story is long-winded. It feels more like a spoken word story than a written story and while I do like this story, I think as it is now, it has a short shelf life.
