Simple, but lovely.  The monsters are getting dressed. Some wear boots, some wear dresses, and some wear tomatoes on their head.  This book is supper fun for the youngest to look at and chew on.
informative medium-paced

I really enjoyed this book.  It takes the classic sing song adage and gives the facts behind the star.  Throughout the book it keeps the sing song pattern, and it does so decently well.  Some of the rhymes are a bit harsh, but overall, it works.  This book is not only understandable, but also something to get little ones interested in space.

What a ride.  The Goldy Pond is more than it appears.  It’s a hunting ground but also a sanctuary and full of surprises.  This book is full of action and moves the story along at a great pace.  One to volume 10.

So B06-32 was not the promised neverland.  It was just a way point.  They now have a new destination A08-63.  Ray and Emma started this new journey in volume 7 with Geezer as guide, but when geezer said he would be of no help he was not kidding.  Now Ray and Emma must figure out how to kill the monsters on their own.  They also figure out that A08-63 was not what they were expecting.  Is it a trap, or is it a haven?  No idea until volume 9.

The kids made it to the Minerva location.  They survived the forest and the plains and have entered the underground sanctuary, where instead of finding Minerva, they find a an “old” geezer who just wants them gone.  Bu the kids are not giving up.  They are going to survive, and they are not going to let one adult stop them.  This was a great addition to the series.  It shows how hard it can be to survive on your own, and what long term loneliness can do to a soul.

This is an interesting read.  There are parts that really annoy me like the fat phobia, but other parts are just so interesting you must keep turning the pages.  From the first few pages with all the guns you would think this would be ultra-violent, but since Sakamoto’s wife hates killing, no one dies, but justice is served.  Sakamoto is a retired assassin who takes on new challenges and new charges.  This book is very much a mix of John Wick and Mr. Bean.  It’s wacky, deadly, but has a lot of heart and one really roots for Sakamoto, his wife and his found family.

This is such a fun series.  Blue, Berry, and Pancake are best friends.  One day, Blue goes spelunking with some other friends leaving Berry feeling very left out and like Blue is no longer their friend. Nothing could be closer to the truth and the friends all go on a wild and crazy adventure under this world.  Plus, they learn that it is okay to have various groups of friends and that you don’t’ always have to be with the same people.  This series is such fun.  Young and old alike will enjoy the antics and colorful illustrations found in the pages.

This is a graphic novel version of a popular Children’s horror story.  I wish I would have liked it more.  The original novel was spooky and full of suspense, but the graphic novel just did not give the same vibes.  It felt more drawn out and like the story was never going to end.  The story is a family moves to a new house in the woods.  The family starts to change, being moody, grouchy, and dirtier.  Then the little sister goes missing.  The son is sure the witch of the woods has stolen her.  A new little girl shows up who was “took” years ago, but is destined to live a very short life.  The story is still a great story, and I think it would make an excellent movie/show, but it may have been the illustrations or the way the story was broken up, but I was just not impressed with this story.

informative

I like this series because they make fun of “what the teacher wants you to know” in the hunt to find the most interesting tidbits about a person. Because the book is designed that way, the reader does not get the normal biography that they would find from any publisher. Instead they get fun information that might only exist in books for adult. For example, until this book I had no idea Amelia wanted to be a doctor, or that she was a nurse. This book is a lot of fun, and if kids have to read a biography, they should try out this book or this series.
