I adored this book so much!
If you're looking for a fantasy book with a trans protagonist, diverse characters, a slow burn romance peppered with sarcasm and wit - The Witch King is for you.
A take on the fae world as I haven't seen before and a truly twisting plot, I struggled to put this book down.
I cannot wait for the sequel!

I was so excited to dive back into the world Stephanie created with the Caraval series, and this did not disappoint.
I was a Jacks simp from the get go and I am loving being back with him in this all new trilogy. Evangeline has great character development throughout the book, and typically we end on a cliff hanger that has left me gasping for the sequel.
If you loved the Caraval books, you will love returning to their world and embarking on this new journey with it's twists and turns, magic and mayhem.

Although a well written, unnerving book - it's not really for me. I found that there was too much constant body shaming and found the book overall to be just terribly sad and uncomfortable. I wanted there to be more hope within the novel but the whole tone is morose.
However for those who love psychological thrillers that offer up an 'unhinged' female character and nauseating white middle class society interspersed with a mysterious air- this might be for you.

I wasn't sure about the juxtaposition of the worlds at the start of this book but as the story progressed I really fell in love with the characters and the journey they embark on.
There is a deeper theme of faith that wars with science, and I appreciated the turmoil that this caused for both parties.
I cannot wait for the sequel, there are still so many questions that need answers and I have my theories!
Perfect for fans of sci-fi fantasy blends, that have a budding romance, magic and plenty of fast paced high stakes action.

This is a fast paced viking inspired story, that is action packed from start to finish.
If you enjoy stories with little dialogue, lots of inner monologue and even more action - then this will be perfect for you.
I wanted more from the characters, I felt that it read really well if it were to be adapted for screen. I didn't really feel anything for any of the characters. I think the first book was better with regards to character development and storyline. I found this one predictable and didn't contain as much to it as I wanted.
It is a quick and easy read and for those who are looking for books that have minimal romance in, this will be perfect for that as there is basically none. It's a lot of action and travelling.

4.5/5 stars.
V.E.Schwab is a beautiful writer and The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue is no different.
Although I didn't fall in love with this book, as easily I fell in love with the Vicious/Vengeful books, in the end it did make me feel. And I want books that make me feel. If I was more of a contemporary book lover than a fantasy lover this would have made my heart soar, but I wanted more of Luc and their interactions as to why it doesn't truly feel like a full 5 in my heart. But my head says 5 for the sheer complexity and beauty of the writing.
There were twists and angst and longing. There was sadness and joy. And at the core of it all there was the human need to be remembered.
