3.5/4 stars.
This graphic novel is beautifully illustrated and tells the story of a group of girls discovering what love means to them.
The female characters are diverse and well fleshed out, the male characters, less so. I would have liked to see more diversity within them and their personalities.
Overall though I did enjoy the story and the journey the characters went on.
Slow to start, but once the story picked up I didn't want to put the book down.
Intoxicating magic, compelling twists and turns, fallacies tucked into corners and dramatically exposed at the last minute. I cannot wait for the sequel.
If you love urban fantasies, complex relationships and intricate plots - then this is for you!
Moderate: Body shaming, Bullying, Child abuse, Confinement, Cursing, Emotional abuse, Fatphobia, Blood, Gaslighting
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Infidelity, Physical abuse, Torture, Toxic relationship, Violence, Vomit, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, Toxic friendship, Injury/Injury detail
Whilst beautifully written, raw and real - there wasn't a lot of light within this book. It holds a lot of pain, confusion and loss.
This book is designed to make you feel and to think on a broader spectrum. Less about enjoyment and more about emotional expansion within the realm of sorrow.
Moderate: Addiction, Alcoholism, Animal death, Body shaming, Bullying, Child abuse, Cursing, Death, Drug use, Hate crime, Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Racial slurs, Self harm, Toxic relationship, Forced institutionalization, Blood, Grief, Car accident, Death of parent, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Pregnancy, Abandonment, Dysphoria
This is an uplifting story overall, with many heartfelt moments interspersed.
Beautifully written, haunting and at times difficult to read - but so essential. I cannot wait for the sequel.

This is perfect for readers who enjoy all things spy related but also enjoy a good laugh. Fast paced action and a good amount of character development throughout.
It only doesn't get the full 5 stars due to the ending leaving it open for further books and I demand to know answers - haha.
Overall a fantastic trilogy that I adored. So many twists and turns, a cat and mouse chase that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
