Heartbreaking and addictive.
I read this book in a day, struggled to put it down.
For those who love the thrill of the chase, cat and mouse games, enemies to lovers wrapped in twists and turns - this is for you.

4/4.5 stars.
Heartbreaking and beautiful.
The only reason it doesn't get the full 5 stars is because I felt the main characters feelings were rushed and didn't hold any depth.
The writing it beautiful, I loved the story, I just wanted to feel more from them. Rather than the 'blink and they're secretly in love' vibe.

I liked the premise of this story, I think that perhaps I was expecting a little more fantasy and less historical fiction with a drop of magic.
I still enjoyed the story though and it is well written as I spent most of the time feeling angry at the injustices imparted upon women. But wasn't quite what I'd hoped for, so I'm the problem, not the book.

The audacity once again.
Do not sleep on this series. If you are looking for magical escapism with forged friendships, twists, turns, emotional turmoil and thrilling action - dive in, and be distraught with the rest of us.

Let me preface this by saying that I adored Taran's Summoner series. So I may have had unhelpfully high hopes for this.
A lot slower paced than I expected, with a lot of repetitive phrases and sentences, which I don't usually find with Taran's writing. But overall an exciting world and I loved the magic system, just wanted a little more from the characters and perhaps less repetitive filler. Also, not a lot of dragon action. I am hopeful the next installment will give us more.
But if you love slower, high fantasy books, with no spice, and well thought out, in depth magic systems - then this will be for you.

A stunning little Christmas special with our favourite Caraval characters!

For anyone who isn't into 'spicy' manga, then this one won't be for you. There is a continuous sexual note throughout, but it is a humorous fantasy story.
