Last year, I discovered Or Else, a twisted thriller I enjoyed so much that I went back and read another 3 books from the author’s catalogue.
Where they lie is a character driven thriller.
Nora Mc Tavish is a child's protective services agent, and she gets involved in the family drama of one of her foster house family.
She feels like there’s something she just can’t put her fingers on for Kaylee and her family of three foster children and her husband. After the plane accident, everything shows to Andrea, the girl that seemed to attract trouble at any second. Because of her own past, I can see her why she is so driven to discover what happened and trying to protect Andrea till the last minute.
I can’t say that I didn’t have a crazy moment when I thought the husband had more to do with the accident in the beginning. But after halfway through, the plot thickens, and the story held me captive even more.
I loved how the bring to light that what happens behind the camera and closed doors, reality is way more heartbreaking.
I’m not the one to watch reality tv or follow influencers that post their picture perfect family and let you believe that life is so sparkly and wonderful. But I was captivated by Kaylee and her character. She is someone I wouldn’t want to have around me or my friends. The ending left me gasping because it was unbelievable how she pulled that stunt again after everything that happened. Some people have no conscience, remorse or guilt at all.
Whether you enjoy addictive thrillers or you are seeking a great family drama in this “sparkling, everything must be posted on social media society”, this book is unmissable.

Gavin is part of the Soul Serenade rock band.As everyone else is getting their happily ever after with the ones they love, he realises he is getting alone and want to settle down as well.No problem in here no? But the only woman that he wants won’t give up so easy,he has to do everything and anything to convince her that she is the one for him and he is tge one for her and he can prove that he really doesn’t care for anyone else but her.
Cassidy is a strong and beautiful woman who had a rough life and she accomplished her dreams with hard work and doesn’t want to lose what she achieved.It’s hard to resist his charms and attraction when Gavin is so insistent with everything. He just won’t give up at their future and tries to make her believe that they can work out no matter the obstacles.
It’s a slow burn romance with a perfect match of characters, laughs out loud moments, some not so happy moments but no much drama and well written overall.

Lovely second chance romance with two characters that are easy to relate, a love story that has to get through a lot before you can say this is what I was fighting for, secondary characters that I want to know more about and a very enjoyable read overall.

One of the main reasons is the infidelity aspect which in this story is totally missing and it's a great bonus and that's why it makes this story so different from the second chance romance.
Grady is sexy as hell and a doctor and of course, he could have any woman he wants at any time but he refused them all,
no kisses,
no dates,
no one night stands because the last one night stands he screwed so bad that he just can't stop thinking about his best friend's sister and what a woman she becomes,
especially now that he is back in town and wants to apologize for his mistakes and will do everything he has to do to get her back,
to build a relationship with her because as said,
he just wants her and nobody else no matter what.
Collins is so sweet and a great character,
she had her heart broken by him but also can't forget him and she won't date or start anything with anyone else,
but she will make him work for regaining her trust.
It's a great book,a slow burn but with great banter and a love story that needs to be read by the lovers of the romance genre.

Talk about books that make you cry!
This book will stay with me for a long long time from now on for sure, it's painful, it's hard to read at times, it's a great book with a lot of feelings, both the MC characters are having so much to share and have a past and a future and a present that is more important than anything to live for.

A fast-paced read with two main characters that go from love, at first sight, to really get married after realising that they are meant for each other and they really see a future together. A lot of funny moments, a revenge plan that goes way further than any of them expects.
Great writing and great characters. My only complaint is that even if i love the dual point of view, i was annoyed by retelling the same scenes in both pov.
