I haven’t read the previous book so I did not know what to expect. I found the cover very interesting and the description seal my wish to try it.
I’m all about the drama behind the scenes in a glamorous setting, and this book delivers in spades.
I can’t say I liked or got closed to any of the characters as there are way too many for my liking and maybe it felt harder to keep up with everyone in the end. It really reads as a big tv drama soap opera, maybe the older versions like Dynasty or even Dallas.
And one thing that really stood out for me and was quite impressed, was the smut! Like full open door scenes, where my kindle catches fire. I’m all about it and I was just surprised to find it so blatantly put on the page on a traditional published book, which we rarely see nowadays, more so in a crime story.
It's an interesting story with intriguing characters, one too many for me, but a book that maybe it's worth reading just because it's more outside of the norm.
Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy

Tanked is the third and final book in the Rosas brothers series.
It's been a while since the last one was published, but this also means we get to read a more complex story.
Angel is the younger brother of three and while he's an adult, he's still trying to find his foot within the family business and life.
He doesn't see himself as a hero. Just because he avoided the past mistakes of his brother or because he's trying to help as much as possible now.
Deanna is a social worker that comes from a very dysfunctional family. She’s seven years older than him and it's really interesting to see how her mind works against her desires.
The story tackled many hot topics, and I loved how the author is adding so much more substance to the characters’ development through their actions and reflections on these matters.
Their interaction and up and downs moments are so well balanced with the steamy scenes. And I mean, that cover alone is a big hint of it.
The pandemic is a big setting part of the story and while it's still a hard time for many, it's done very realistic and raw.
Overall, I really loved this series and the tight relationship between all these characters that had so much to overcome throughout life.
Very grateful to the publisher/author for my review copy.

When I requested this book from NetGalley after seeing it a few times recommended on TikTok, I did not know what to expect as I haven’t read the author’s books before and more so, many times lots of new to me authors from that platform failed to be my liking.
This is not the case with this story.
I had to put it aside for a day because the brutal honestly and raw emotions that are displayed in here are just taking a lot from me.
And that’s what a great story should do in my cards.
I love a good second chance romance and if you add all the angsty moments with the characters’ development and growing up in more ways than another, you just make a perfect story for me.
There's no way to not overthink some scenes and there's a lot to take in here.
I loved the connection and inner thoughts, even the bad ones with lies and trying to lie to himself where he only should've been honest.
It's a hard story to read, but it's a must read one at the same time. The romance part just shows how much love can change a life.
