I devoured this book in one sitting and the drama and twists made me enjoy it a lot. I wanted to know if Kaitlin’s fiancé, Greg was the one who made Zoe disappear and what actually happened.
With each chapter , more scenes and pieces of this puzzle are unveiled and while I personally couldn’t keep any side on these characters, I found them intriguing and their actions on point many times.

I absolutely loved this story! So beautiful written and so much suspense. I loved how the descriptions made me dream with my eyes open and as I am a big fan of orchids, I couldn’t help but get so immersed into the story. The Victorian part of the action made it even more interesting because I loved how the author is depicting the greediness of the ones that can afford to spend their money on exotic flowers and others that just take a stride through all that luxurious image.
Set up for a great adventure in the hunt of a new unheard wonder , Harry Compton finds himself on the run after witnessing a murder. I loved how unique his companion is and how her strength and knowledge is brought up by the suspenseful moments when they have to fight again their enemies.
A fantastic story that everyone must read!
I absolutely loved this story! So beautiful written and so much suspense. I was looking forward to read the second book in this trilogy for a few years now.
Fiona is back and so are her “heroes”.
Same as in the first, there’s a cat and mouse game around her at all times especially since she’s growing a bit more, becomes more aware of her sexuality when she agrees to help with the murder of two prostitutes.
I loved that this book is more on the suspenseful side and there are so many more turns and unexpected twists, especially the murder solving one, because I didn’t see that coming at all!
Let’s see what the next books brings for one of my favourite heroine and her friends.

And these two have their plate overflowing with buried secrets.
I’m not even sure who I was rooting for more all along because I was always changing my feelings between one or the other while discovering more of their lives and scenarios with each chapter.
One trying to forget and the other trying to remember everything from that unfortunate night.
It’s a fast-paced story that kept me up way into the night because I really wanted to know how everything will unveil and there were quite a few moments when I had to reread certain scenes because my theories were so out of place compared to what I was reading!

Reread 19 February 2022, 1.5 years afterwards and still a must read story
When an author combines the historical London with the mystery and crimes that can only be a masterpiece story.
I couldn’t put the book down! From the first chapter to the end, there’s not even a moment of taking a break.
Fiona it’s an amazing character, a woman who has seen and done a lot in her life but also vulnerable and still, she won’t back from finding the real serial killer of her friend.
There are many characters, each one very specific portrayed, each one a suspect at some point for me because the author has created a story where you just can’t predict what’s going to happen next and who’s the culprit for these horrible crimes.
There are multicultural misconceptions mixed with beliefs about what and why some people are doing or living their lives in a certain way.
“The heart was made to be broken.”
There are so many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more and more. There are a few romantic moments as well in a dark world but they only bring more substance to the story and I love when this happens.
“Just as there is danger in darkness, there is safety, too. If your eyes are closed, you can believe that things are different. That they might be better than they are. You can paint your own reality on the backs of your eyelids and look to it with all the hope your imagination can conjure.”
There are also many scenes of graphic description which I found them perfectly done to visualise and understand better everything.
“Killing. It is only an action on both the part of the killer and the victim. A passing, or a journey. A transition from being here to not being here. Death is a quiet thing. A lonely thing. It is not so much for me to bear. It is not so hard for me to do.”
I want more, I need more of this story and looking forward not so patiently to the next book. The Hammer is my favourite male character here so I need more of his time.

Hmm, I would’ve liked it more if the guy wasn’t a real a**hole when the problems with his father came up. It felt like he really didn’t give a duck about her and all that time together, just discarded her in a second.

Leo and Haley are pure fire together and their story, a dark retelling of Beauty and the Beast, is perfect for dark romance lovers and not only.
This trilogy has everything you can expect, great world build, characters that grown on you with each mischievous grin and steamy scenes that will heat up your kindle in seconds.

I loved this book as much as I loved the first ones in the series. It’s more unique and the humor just made it all a perfect read while keeping it true to the more serious matters as grief and heartbreak.
Fake dating is probably one of my favourite tropes and this book ticked all the boxes in my case.
So looking forward to read more in the future.
