"Because it's easy to ignore a woman. But a hell of a lot harder to ignore a witch".

What a beautiful exploration of life and grief and regrets. Brilliantly paced, great characterisation, easy read!

While I am normally very critical of the way men write woman, I loved the way Grrleen portrayed April! She was real and deeply flawed and egocentric, without stooping to manic-pixie/mary-jane/'not like other girls' nonsense.
This was written in a fictional-memoir style, which, tied in with sci-fi and everything else this book has going on, it shouldn't work. It could have been too much and forced, but it wasn't! Great pacing, great narrative... I enjoyed this so much more than I was expecting and feel like a right dolt for leaving it on my shelf for so long!
