It took me a little while to get into this book, but once I did, I enjoyed it. The plot seems a little too unbelievable, but isn’t that the point of a story sometimes? 

I couldn’t put it down! Just when I started to feel like it was getting to be too perfect, BOOM, plot twist! This happened to me at least twice, in the one sitting, of which I read this book. Some smut, some cringe, but still a solid five star read. I enjoyed the audiobook narrators. 

This story blows my mind! It’s appalling and heartbreaking. But part of me thinks it’s really cool how he got so close with Elton John and Michael Jackson. 

I went into this book hoping it would really speak to me, but it didn’t. It was very slow paced and I did not find it to be insightful, instead it was depressing. I know, I know, I chose to read a book about dying, but I was really looking for it to make sense, and it just didn’t. 

There were parts of this book that I absolutely loved, and then there were parts that felt very YA to me. I liked the concept of the book and the insight to eating disorders and how it feels to the person going through those emotions. 

Smutty smut smut. But good!  I enjoyed the realness of the adult relationships in this book - the friends, family, and lovers. There were some very detailed adult scenes, which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for. 

So. Twisty! I couldn’t decide, and still cannot decide, what was true! I read this via audiobook and highly recommend doing so. There were times I had to remind myself this was a novel, and NOT a true story because the audio was THAT good. 

I enjoyed this book more than the first one. There seemed to be more plot development and I was happy to find a slight change of heart throughout the story.  Looking forward to the next one to see what happens next. 

Ok, so there’s major hype surrounding ACOTAR, and that might be why I’m a little harsh with my critique.  I think it was a solid 3 stars. Mediocre writing, lots of Beauty and the Beast vibes with a lot of questions as well. I was excited to chat with my sister about this one, as she is a big fan!  I’m not huge into fantasy reads, so this was an okay read for me. Nothing to die for, but I’m here for the ride to see what all the hype is about. 

I read this via audiobook and I am now planning on buying a physical copy so I can refer to it as needed. She mentions figures and PDFs in the audiobook so I think it would be helpful to look at those in reference to certain scenarios. Otherwise, this book had really great advice and simple terms. Some of it I didn’t wanna hear, but that probably means it’s something I NEED to hear, right? I specifically appreciated the sections on grief.
