This. Book. Was. Great!  It came at just the right time for me. If you can get past all of the “f” words (mom, I’m lookin at you), then it can be magical!

I didn’t know who Viola Davis was, but had heard that her memoir was really good, and it was! I loved hearing about her life as a child and what it means to be a new actress in NYC, and then more about her life thru adulthood. Solid memoir and excellent on audio, except for the large amount of profanity in the beginning of the book.

Gotta love a quick read!  I’ve loved the whole Finlay Donovan series and this novella was no exception. It was fun to learn a little more about Vero and how her and Finlay first met.

This was just what I needed to read in this season of life. However, the Covid story was incredibly difficult for me, I still appreciated the perspective and encouragement. My mother-in-law gave me this book for my birthday and what a great gift! Very uplifting and encouraging.

This book was extremely insightful. I found it mind-blowing (see what I did there) that the author was able to articulate many of her thought processes WHILE having a stroke!  Crazy!  The first half of the book talks mostly about the anatomy and physiology of the brain and her experience. The second half of the book reads like a mindfulness exercise.

A hallmark movie in a book. Very vanilla and sweet.

I don’t know why, but I was expecting a book about a bunch of hockey players and their obsessed parents in a small town, and Backman delivered so much more than that! He got it right and I will be recommending this book.

Meh, this book just didn’t really hold my attention. It’s a grumpy-sunshine troupe. I don’t have much else to say about it unfortunately.

Woah, I wasn’t expecting to like this book THIS much, but it blew my mind! Time travel and psychological thriller and romance all mixed into one. It may sound like too much, but it was just right. I was thrilled with the ending, even tho I wasn’t sure what I was expecting. It’s hard to describe. If you’re intrigued, give it a read.

What a sweet, magically Christmas, book ☺️ This is a best friends to lovers troupe, which I can always get behind. Sometimes I wonder how the characters just can’t see the writing on the wall!  But this one was done in a cute, Christmasy way, and it made me feel all warm and snuggly inside.
