Re-read ahead of onyx storm. Just as good the second time round

Not necessary to read this to follow the series. I feel like it could have honestly been summed up with just as much effect in 50 pages. I don’t really get the tiktok hype

I really liked this story. I enjoyed the fact Frances journal from she was a teen is read alongside the present story. It gave interesting flash backs and clues which foreshadowed the present story conclusion but in a way that did not make it too easily predicted which was nice. 

I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first trilogy set. It felt a little different I think because Darrows character seems to shift. It was also a slower start to get into the actual action compared to the earlier books. But this is more of a builder book I would say to set the scene for the next direction on from the ending of the first trilogy

Very little substance 

I didn’t not enjoy this but I wouldn’t say it was good. It was also not the best writing and the plot was kind of lacking.
