This book kept my attention throughout, which is impressive. The final scene was very predictable but still totally got me, I think it is maybe the biggest reason why the book is as beloved as it is- but you guys need to expand your horizons if you thought that was a surprising twist! I would’ve liked more world building and history behind why things were the way the were, I thought it was a huge cop out that most of the world building happened when Violet was nervous & reciting facts. Made me want to revisit ACOTAR which I didn’t really even like, the world & history were more interesting and I think those are the best parts of fantasy

This was really fascinating. I listened to it on audio because I tend to struggle to focus on nonfiction, I think this would still be the case for this book- but I want to get a hard copy so I can highlight nearly every line! I particularly enjoyed the history, Bible analysis, and personal stories- i don’t think it would’ve been as impactful without those things. Really recommend
