Notes I made along the way reading this masterpiece:
1. Why did I think the author was male? Was it her style of writing or simply her name? Gillian (Jillian)...
2. Amy is rare but nick is most people
3. I do not feel bad for Lance Nicholas Dunne
4. Good guys can make mistakes, but sociopaths with a lack of emotion and selflessness are another realm
5. One of the few book adaptions where the actresss hit everything on the nail shoutout to her
6. Amy is 99.999% an aquarius (I am an aquarius)
7. I wish desi was more explained cause that "Bates Motel" had a lot of damage
8. Should someone save Nick?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A lot to unpack about the female psyche. To be crazy or not we truly are capable of making change and moving mountains. My favorite character Amy and least favorite Gilpian. Polar opposites he didn't question enough to simple but at least he isnt a liar, murderer, and evil thing...right? Only 9 people will ever know the truth of Mrs.Elliott-Dunne: Nick, Go, Rohnda, Tanner and Betsy, Hilary, Desi (In the end), Tommy, Jacqueline...Maybe the future son will see it too but highly doubtful by 65%. People can be so dumb, so awful, and yet think they deserve better. I feel bad for Margot she will suffer the most. I am glad their mom passed because that case would have killed her or she would have killed amy. In a spinoff book special ending I can see Jacquline, tommy, hilary, or margot someone who knows the snake in camoflauge will murder Amy or try to. After the baby most likely. But she would never be foolish enough to let them close to her, nick, and Jr. The poor kid won't know the truth ever. Amy wouldn't let nick outlive her probably. Imagine is amy was male then that would be Jr. for the world's sake i would hope not. I did not appreciate the extent of her lies. I have never been comfortable with lying to people. Why lie was always my thoughts so I don't do it. But her mind twisted maze of logic, reasona dn self righteousness is pure Death Note vengence and Game of Thrones Queen dragon egotistical tale of absurd actions. Her parent were dead wrong in writing those books. After the successful birth of amy they should have sought couple and seperate therapy.
Questions:
Do they move back to New York?
Does the ending imply she had to punish nick once again?
How does she keep Noelle her BFF in check from driving her mad?
Will Amy sell the bar?

Would I reread it? Yes, in the future, when I am more involved in healing the outer world.
Recommend? Yes, to PWW who want to learn how the craft can benefit from the effective change.
In the middle, I skimmed through, losing interest. I did learn things about how to incorporate things I would never have thought of on my own. If I was a beginner, parts of the book strictly regarding magick I would love to have. If I was into social justice and much more, then most of the book would be perfect. It is hard to imagine a non- PPW practicer to find this book useful aside from his genuine advice and stories from experience. The symbols, vocabulary, reading recommendations, and spell examples definitely more up my alley of what I was searching for. Can broaden your knowledge and grimoire for present and future use. Overall not terrible at all, just not what I am currently ready for.

When I first began reading this book, I had no idea what to expect. This may be the first book I have ever read the prologue, note from the author, and epilogue. It was necessary, I think, to read her autobiography. At times, her upbringing was tough to fathom the atrocities done to children, girls, and the broken. Witchcraft throughout persistent. Beginning her life apart of the craft, then losing herself in the underworld, and in the end finding her way back to witchcraft to heal herself and those around her. The recollections of her past lovers, boyfriends, girlfriends, and how each journey shaped her. Saying word for word the spells used, how she did them, explaining the stories of pagan history through the years, how it connects to us now. How the crusades and destruction of cultures and worlds pain us more profoundly. Many history lessons from all perspectives from what we were told, the truth, and what we can guess based on what's leftover from the massacres. Whether you a goddess or god worship or not {which I don't as of now} this can still teach you many things. The basics to advance on getting what you need or channeling the necessary spirit or guide. Speaking about tarot [I do not use and have no experience with], myths, history, and stories make me want to know more because the way she delivers the information is perfect. This is the most realistic autobiography of witch I have ever read. Well worth completing. I have so many questions now that I have learned and answered, and that is the best feeling in the world. To all those PWW or not who decide to read, blessed be, and good luck on your journeys.

I began to read this in search of more PWW books. This was a lovely book, from the art to the stories. I feel like my mind has opened more and put into words my truth. I will definitely purchase a copy to keep for my future children's library. I do wish there was a more comprehensive range of women of color referenced. The reference to goddesses, hypothetical backstories, and magick was exceptionally done. In a PWW education, this can be used as motivation and reference to remind us of our power. I enjoyed the stories of men, fathers, mothers, and family encouraging their sons and daughters to be better than them and use their voice. Feel instead of keeping it in and festering. Indeed a must-have for people on a different path. I want to be married and have children.. to be a wife and mother. This book loves that about us, but it also reminds us that its complications can hurt us turn us cold. The battles we fight and experience everyday are never easy. But freedom (whatever that means to you) is one of the real ways to happiness... to only be yourself and happy with it.

"The Earth Path" is such a well researched and in depth book and reference for pagans/spiritualists, but I must admit my young adolescent mind could not finish it. I wish I owned it to reference it further into my daily practice. Full of real-world examples, journal entries, scientific and personal experiences. How to help mother earth, Gaia, with a lot or little. I think it is essential in practice to acknowledge we cannot change the world. We must all do our part, no matter how big or small, to give back. I will definitely revisit this book in the future and add a personal copy to my library when I have the chance. Crazy how this was published in the early 2000s and still resonates with modern time 2020. A must-read for those looking for guidance and a little more information shows reality, not the fantasy of being a PWW.

I Deeply enjoyed this audiobook. I see why a lot of Pagans, Wiccans, & Witches PWW recommend it. Unfortunately, he died young he could have done so much more. I wish I had a physical copy to own and use as a reference. I also hope someone could update and add on to it because 33 years have passed, and some things have changed and modernized. This is one of my top 3 favorites of all the PWW books I have read so far. It contains a thorough glossary of terminology, parts of his grimoire/book of shadows, spells, baking instructions, offering, and diety direction. Highly recommendable. It can also be very overwhelming as it is full of information. Nonetheless necessary in our religion.

I have never heard of or read anything by Augusten before. I truly love this book. It hurts that i could only read it digitally. I have spent 2020 reading many PWW* (pagan,wiccan,witch) books and I hope i continue reading memoirs and books to help me learn more of my faith. I love that there are books about PWW people who function and live in "reality". Though we have many differences when there are similarities it is very comforting. I am born in the year 2000 so most of the references I had to look up or watch and I am glad i did. Gave the book more color (not that it needed anymore). I hope this book helps those who read it if that is what they need. Well done Augusten.

Star Trek Enterprise (2001) Episode 21 "Vox Sola" Aired: May 1, 2002- Found clip/ never watched/ All the actors in the show who are POC are gorgeous and fairly young
