It's probably 3.5 stars and not as clever as it thinks it is.. but this is a fun, twisty, Georgian historical ride. Could have lost 150 pages and probably been just as good but have to applaud the fact it didn't actually take that long to read given its length as the author moves the story at pace.

It's not just savage but a brutal journey through generational trauma and abuse but written with the author's incredible gift for storytelling. It feels odd giving such a book five stars because the content is so harrowing but it doesn't deserve anything else.
