I can appreciate what this has done for the genre, but every single time I have to read this I hate it more and more.
There are aspects of this books that I can enjoy discussing, but actually reading it is a close to painful experience for me. I cannot stand Holden Caulfield's narration, it feels like dragging nails through my brain.
I know others love it, but it really, truly is not for me.

Magic seeps from these pages, and yet every bit exists oh-so-believably. It takes a small piece of both my childhood and adulthood heart each time I read it.
P.S. For those who have yet to read it, be sure to pay attention to the chapter headings (very helpful)!
