All of this sparked great tumbling thoughts in my brain, and the perspective Thomas provides is necessary - especially if you are ever in a position to teach fantastic literature or fantastic pop culture.

Each point brought up here deserves careful consideration and open discussion. While some of her points seem muddled or, on occasion, mildly contradictory, the space everything comes from is startlingly clear.

Her bibliography and sources also have provided enough source material for me to go diving for a good long while, which personally brings me great joy.

Magic seeps from these pages, and yet every bit exists oh-so-believably. It takes a small piece of both my childhood and adulthood heart each time I read it.

P.S. For those who have yet to read it, be sure to pay attention to the chapter headings (very helpful)!

I decided to read Fangirl after reading Carry On. To everyone who told me I should read this - you were 100% correct.

I sat down to read this book as I was eating breakfast, and I set it down well after I should have been eating lunch. This book contains sisters, magic, hope, and the many threads of my life that I've forcefully woven fanfiction into.

I love it.
