This was cute I guess. Okay. It may be because its been so long since I've read just romance and have little experience with contemporary romance but this came off as a generic unknown royalty romance with a coating of black panther to make it just a little different. I appreciate reading about people of my race in a contemporary romance. And feel I may have enjoyed this trope in the past but was just not feeling it now. It may be because I read this while recovering from surgery as well. I didn't hate the characters. I just could not help but read this cynically and so didn't get into it. It wasn't the comfort romance novels usually are for me. I will continue with the series though.

Yeah, I give up. Attempted to try and reread this in order to move on to the rest of the series but it just doesn't do much for me. Even less now this 2nd go round.

Fast paced and definitely actions packed. The thing with this series as compared to Mercy's is how slow burning any plot is. So each book somehow seems like random things are happening out of nowhere. But the threads are slowly being tied together. Even the ones connected to the Mercy series are growing closer.

I had my suspicions on who would finally be revealed. But its mostly because I don't like them. I like my characters to have happy loving relationships and this person makes that impossible. Putting this here to see if I can guess who I'm talking about when I eventually reread this.

3.5 stars. If we don't get some closure on Bonnie at the end of the trilogy I will scream. Anyway, its been awhile since I've read from this series. I don't thubj I read the Catherine Ling story. I was not expecting the flashback. It felt flimsy. The relationship that created Bonnie felt flat to me. As did the sex. Dude was very creepy too. The rest of the book was better but I saw some things I wouldn't put up with if I wasn't invested from the past. Once again don't like how Joe is treated. The plot was basically predictable. There was an attempt to mislead readers but knowing there's at least 2 more books means its not believable. The ending action was good. And I'm happy we'll get Jane on screen in the next book.

Kinda hate read this one, lol, maybe. Incoherent review for now. I knew I was not going to like the ending and I didn't but it was the best thing she could have done. I don't like Paige but I don't dislike her. I understand her plight and want to see how things go. But since I'm not invested that terminology kept tripping me up. Even a bit after the halfway mark when we get some explanation. And I say this as a person with prior knowledge of psychic abilities and divination which is where a third of the terminology comes from. So I kept getting thrown out of the story and being frustrated. The make out scene pissed me off because 1) no chemistry, 2) no UST or even build up to it 3) now is not the time 4) girl you don't even know him 5) his motives are suspect, and 6) "is this heaven?" is so cheesy when this book is not. So anyway, this was well written but might not be for me.

This was hilarious and witty. Exactly my kind of humor. Read for Victober.
