Okay to start, lit fic is not my fave genre. They often feel like work and are rarely comforting as the regular life struggles of any random human is not comforting. That doesn't mean they are not good. This is well written. I had all the emotions. More than usual but I can relate to this character in many ways. But I grew either bored or frustrated with her choices were not relatable. It's like when you see a friend making questionable choices. But she is not a friend. Though I've been thinking lately that I do have a friend that may be a lot similar.  

Let me tell you how the first chapter had me so anxious. Maybe the first 2. I knew immediately this woman did not see life like me. And then she spent the whole book wondering why things weren't working out. That's not how life works. But I did appreciate the themes of friendship and family, work a black woman, worrying about police brutality, wondering if you are getting ahead due to affirmative action. But at several points I found myself saying she is not a good friend. The ending not included. There's this facade and she doesn't even realize it exists but then again it's so thin. But this book did live up to it's name. It's all there in black and white. The title is why I kept putting off reading this book for 4-5 months. 

Finally getting around to reading this and I liked it. Didn't love it but it went about as well as I expected it to. This look at a dystopian London with both the people that run it and the vigilante trying to save it and it's people. I now know thanks to other books that dystopias are not really ever going to be for me. They are interesting but not compelling. This one was easier to digest since the "futuristic" time has already passed in the real world. So I know this didn't happen. But understanding that it could have and could still but in a different way today keeps this story relevant.

Figuring out who is V is what kept me going through an art style I don't like and the large amount of text. While the answer to that question left me wanting, the journey was enough. This has an open ending, which I was content with but only because I was happy it was over, lol. The characters in the government were so predictable, minus one, it felt like I was reading lit fic. Another genre not my fave. But the realistic storyline made me nod along if that makes sense. Like I get it. This makes sense because its all too real. So this wasn't entertaining and I didn't learn anything new but I recognized the world. The dialogue was a bit much. But also fit the main character best. 

I see the work put into this and recognize how this would stand out in the time it was written and drawn. 

In this one we're looking back at how Erica joined the House of Slaughter. World building so we know how the House works and giving us background for Erica and Aaron too to an extent. Which I wanted while reading the first 3. Not sure if this is the beginning of a new arc or not. But I was all in. The supernatural element is just right in this series. chef's kiss.

This is the web comic created by Hybe with the characters based on BTS. The art is great but the story is kind of basic so far. It's interesting seeing a fantasy take on tiger's which are largely associated with Korea. However the writing is very basic which is why I decided against the fully written wattpad version. The story is different from the trailers which seemed darker and more serious. While the bad guys definitely come across as dark and deadly. The characters based on the BTS  members are more lighthearted than I expected. Especially given the situation. Also, since the story is incomplete, not everyone has joined the cast. Overall I have to agree with some Korean reviews I saw asking why the connection with BTS. This was just okay. 

New character and more explanation for Erica, House of Slaughter and the monsters. Not enough yet though. Action goes up, so more gore. I'm hooked.

Didn't learn as much as I hoped in this volume but we are moving forward.
