visually stunning. made me think a lot.

FYI: I made a short video about it (in German): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drPkO-i4pHY

I loved it, rushed through it the first time, then read it again. so many true words, so many memories, so good in its deconstruction but still remaining fan.

I bought this because I knew the artist Meredith Mcclaren from her book "hinges".
If you're reading the current run of Jem and the Holograms then you know the basic plot, but what lies beneath is a story about family. The end of the book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Now I want to read all the Savages books!

while the art style is really great, the story is nothing new. I get that it's about how on the side society treats outsiders and how they react to that ( sometimes very violently). on the other side it's also about finding your own way, growing up, thinking for yourself.
these are important topics, but somehow I couldn't connect with the story and the characters.

give it a try but don't expect a masterpiece.

a weird book in the best way. expect the unexpected. I like it.

by the combined awesomeness of Kieron Gillen and Marguerite Bennet - this. is. ANGELA!

great book, great story. love the little things in the dialogues.
